    8.0 Professional Development Programs

    8.1The Altus Way

    We understand how important professional development is to all of our staff, which is why we enlisted some of the best external services for help, in addition to our 3 professional development programs:

    • Altus Connect!
    • Project Protégé and a
    • Leadership Development Program 
    Altus Connect

    Altus Connect! sessions are designed for managers and staff to discuss the bigger strategic picture. These develop Altus’ people, so they can execute Altus’ strategic plan - to build a high performing, growth oriented, super productive business.

    Altus Connect! is structured into group and individual sessions. The group sessions encourage sharing of knowledge, experience and ideas. Individual sessions are conducted with managers in conjunction with HR, who work with staff on the Altus Employee Value Proposition (EVP), client experience, and their personal KPI dashboard.

    Leadership Development Program

    Secondly, seniors are involved in a Leadership Development Program, run by external consultants, in a structured program that supports and builds the management skills of Altus’ future leaders.

    This program focuses on 5 leadership pillars:

    1. self-awareness,
    2. self-management,
    3. people management,
    4. client management, and
    5. financial management.

    Training

    Additionally, we have skill based training sessions (i.e. tax training). We take our staff to thought-leadership events run by Business Chicks and Sydney Young Professionals.

    We have an external business coach who offers Executive training for our Directors, and facilitate group debates on timely issues at our monthly huddles, which allow staff to practice and refine their public speaking and influential skills regularly.
