Technical Foundation
Every entrepreneur needs a strong foundation in their chosen area. You’ll develop your technical skills through your undergraduate degree, the CA program, MBA or other training you may pursue. We will further develop your technical skills through in-house training, coaching and development, especially from working with our clients, right from day one.

Altus Financial was created 25 years ago to make a real difference to our clients’ financial outcomes. Our role as a trusted adviser is to help guide our clients towards a successful financial future, while protecting the financial worlds they have built.
Our philosophy has always been to work in an integrated way with our clients, delivering both accounting and wealth management advice.
This is because it’s important that the people IN our clients’ businesses have the right advice too.
To be this trusted guide and guardian at Altus, you need to understand business and personal worlds. We will teach you. From day one, you will analyse and review our clients’ business and personal areas to help them plan, build, organise, manage, grow and protect their worlds.
Trusted Adviser
Advising clients is not all celebrations. As a trusted adviser, you are helping them in some of the most challenging and emotional times in their lives – such as helping with a divorce property settlement, or closing a much-loved business.
We will help you develop the interpersonal skills you need so that clients trust you – so you can talk to clients, influence their world, negotiate deals, mediation, and even crisis management.
Clients want a relationship with their adviser. They want to hear the advice they need, because it’s in their best interest. We’ll help you to be become a trusted adviser, so that when anything changes in their world, we are the first people they think to ask for assistance. If we can do that, we truly are a trusted adviser
Technology and Systems
Technology is at the front of our clients’ worlds, so it’s at the front of ours. You’ll need to understand our clients’ technological needs and challenges, even advise them on it. We use the best technology, systems and outsourcing options ourselves to deliver our client advice - paperless, cloud-based and integrated - so you will too.
Leadership
Advisers have a strong commitment to their professional integrity as well as an appreciation for how business decisions affect financial performance. Advisers can also lead, because they are people who can help sway decisions by working as a team to achieve a common goal.
There are too many people that just go with the flow. A leader can listen to everyone around them, see the various perspectives, learn from each other and put it all into context of the situation in front of them. And have the courage to stand up for their views.
As a new adviser, we’ll work with you to develop your leadership skills every day through our structured training programs, your client work, and your internal relationships.
