Mark works in the Fund Management industry as a Key Account Manager.

Previous to this, he worked as a Financial Planner and has been in the industry for 17 years.

My background is in financial planning and investment, although I hadn't worked as a financial planner since 2005. I came to the realisation that whilst have a pretty strong knowledge, I still didn't think I could actually do it efficiently myself and didn't have the time to get a plan in place.

One point of frustration for me was time. I just didn't have enough time to do it myself. Things weren't getting done.

Another difficulty was that all the rules and regulations change regularly, especially around superannuation. It can be hard to keep up with what you can and can’t do with superannuation.

I also really needed to get my insurance sorted out, particularly because I have a young family.

I’ve been a client of Altus for about 6 years, everything has been appropriate and comprehensive in that time. It's taken a lot of the work and worry off of me.

I also needed to deal with multiple issues including tax, superannuation and insurance. Altus has been able to help and advise me on all of these issues in a seamless and coordinated approach.

The advice Adam gave me helped my partner and I get more focused on achieving some goals, whereas previously we had vague goals and no real plan to achieve them. An example is the education fund set up for the kids, which is really great. Whilst we might have still been able to fund their education, it's just nice to know that you've got that set up. It’s something else we no longer have to worry about.

Knowing also that insurances are in place that would protect my family if something was to happen to me gave me the peace of mind I needed.
